Maintenance Of a Healthy Skin

A healthy, glowing skin reflects a healthy you. It also boosts up your confidence as Beauty is Skin-deep. Healthy food habits, getting enough sleep, regular moderate physical activities, managing stress, staying hydrated are keys for a healthy skin.

Here are some tips for a healthy, glowing skin:

  • Be on a healthy diet consists of lots of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains. Thus make sure your foods are rich in Vitamins (A, C, D & E), anti-oxidants, monounsaturated fats (but free of saturated fat) as these fight against wrinkling and premature skin aging.
  • Drink plenty of water as skin like any other cell in the body, are made up of water. Without water, the skin may get dry, heading to develop wrinkle.
  • Don’t smoke as it ages your skin and encourages wrinkling.
  • Exercise every day as it increases blood circulation and thus the flow of nutrients to the skin. Moreover, sweating after exercises, flushes out dirt from your skin.
  • Try to manage stress as prolonged exposure to cortisol and other stress hormones can disrupt almost all your body’s processes. However, regular exercises, activities like yoga and meditation help manage your stress.
  • Try to sleep well. An average adult needs 7-8 hours’ sleep per day.
  • Use a cleanser to clean the dirt of your face, then on your skin,apply a moisturizer to prevent dryness of the skin and retinoid/retinol which has a role in wrinkle prevention. The sequential use of these three skin care products should be your daily skincare routine. Most importantly,choose cleanser, moisturizer and retinol depending on the type of your skin.
  • Stay out of the sun as much as possible. While going out, wear always sunscreen that protects against both ultra-violate (UVA and UVB) rays with an SPF of 30 or higher, even on cloudy days. Use sunglasses too.
  • While spending time outdoors, re-apply your sunscreen every two to three hours with a clean hand.
  • Finally, don’t overuse any kind of skincare products.
